Spain: country of sunshine; sparkling blue mediterranean sea; vermouth; tapas bars; Antonio Gaudí; Salvador Dali; Pablo Picasso; ancient Roman historic sites; Don Quixote de la Mancha; salmoreja; paella … and La Boqueria!
And, the land of the classical guitar. While on a visit to Barcelona three years ago, we were fortunate to get tickets to see the Master of classical guitar Manuel Gonzales live at the Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona. This is one of the most beautiful concert halls in the world and the acoustics are incredible. Enjoy the music while browsing through the “La Boqueria”, the world famous fruit, vegetable, and everything else edible market in Barcelona with me.
Thanks for coming along, Sabine
Spectacular! Dancing in my living room with beautiful tears in my eyes. Oh, and goosebumps, too!

Glad you enjoyed it! I had fun putting it together, as it brought back memories of our trip. The concert was definitely special, as it had been put on at the last minute and we happened to be in the right place at the right time. Just read some of your posts. Love your poems!

I’m listening to classic guitar … the song is “Illusion” by Struntz and Farah. Almost takes me to Spain, while working at the computer.

I know what you mean. I got to see a sensational Tuareg band by the name of Tinarewen play their first Northern California show minutes from my home. It was magical.

I just checked out their website and will listen to some of their music as soon as I have chance. It sounds fascinating, especially how the group evolved. Thanks for letting me know.

Oh, absolutely! I have a feeling you will love them as much as I do. You might also want to check out a phenomenal documentary called, ‘Festival in the Desert’. It chronicles the creation of a Sahara Desert music festival where bands from across Africa and the world come together and celebrate. That’s one I own and watch regularly! Let me know what you think of the music?

Thanks! We’ve been to many places in the world, and I would have to say that Spain was one of my all time favorite destinations. Except for Barcelona, we stayed away from touristy places. Loved the history, the food, the country, and most of all the Spanish people! And I got to practice my Spanish! I hope you will go, you will love it!
