Savoring Summer’s Sizzle

Musings, Nature, Out and About, Photography, Poetry

annual
beach outing to
collect sea shells

daily
evening walks on the
forrest covered mountain

garden alive with
helicopter-like dragonflies and
iridescent hummingbirds

jam and jelly making
kettle heats up the kitchen
labels ready

midsummer’s day
night and day
of equal length

poppies
quivering along
roadsides

sunflowers
towering
upwards toward the sky

 tomatoes ripening
under the hot sun
vividly colored and juicy

warm evenings
xanthous colored sun glowing
yellow with summer’s
zeal, disappearing behind the horizon.
