A quiet, peaceful pocket in this town,
Small bungalows line narrow streets
Each and every house here looks unique
A neighborhood walk here is a treat!
An early morning stroll around the block
Past the community garden, then left on Denton
Behind a fence a dog starts barking
Near the round-about, on Benton.
A kaleidoscope of flowers in bloom
Ongoing draught encouraged planting natives
Under shade trees Naked Ladies dressed in pink
No lawnmowers needed here for the creative!
A lady starts chatting over her morning glory fence
Perched high on a wire the mockingbird sings
At the top of every hour a song floats through the air
It always follows right after the church bell rings.
Once back at the house again, relaxing on the deck
My freshly brewed café in hand
Fragrant lemon blossoms scent the air,
Rustling leaves, singing birds: It’s nature’s own Big Band!
Wow!

Gorgeous as usual. So much skill in your pictures. Is the course still going?

Hi Trudy! The course is over, but I am still catching up. The commons are open for another week to post and chat. I really enjoyed this course and will take it again.

I’ve felt like that after the course as well. I’m glad that you enjoyed it. They really do start the creative juices flowing and it’s such a welcoming atmosphere in the Commons

How are things with you?

I’m ok. I’ve been trying to learn more about blogging through other blogging resources. And trying to have more experiences to write about. I have a couple of drafts saved that I need to complete and I’ve applied to volunteer at WordCamp in NYC on Halloween weekend. So I’m waiting to hear back from them about that. Not much really. And you my dear Sabine?

Same old here! Taking a writing class in the real world, trying to learn new things to do on the blog and keeping up with everyday life! Lots of cooking as well!

I’m glad, I wanted to try to intergrate a couple of recipes for myself but not totally sure how I would fit it in. A separate tab of recipes /restaurants… Still thinking about that. Also going to a real life meet next month with some of the NY bloggers I met in my course, I’m excited about that.!

Enjoy the meet! Can you blend the recipes into your blog format by comparing it to something similar you’ve eaten at a restaurant? That could make for some interesting posts.

Maybe I could, I’ve been eating more at home lately. Not many restaurants as of late, so I guess that might work. I hope through cycles of cooking all the time to barely and not feeling inspired to make special dishes (if that makes sense). That’s a good suggestion, thank you.

It could be a monthly feature I guess.

I feel like I just took a trip through paradise! Love that neighborhood – I’m sure it has a lot of stories to tell. That gorgeous gigantic tree – is it yours? What is it? Your poetry between the images is perfection. You are a multi-talented lady with unbelievable amounts of energy. This is an exquisite post! 🙂

Thank you Lola! The neighborhood is in Santa Rosa, Ca. It’ where I stay when I visit there every summer. My friend lives in one of these charming little houses complete with a beautiful lemon tree. Not sure what kind of tree it is, but I’ll find out. Thanks again for your kind words! They mean a lot to me from one of my favorite poets! 😊

Thanks! Those Meyer lemons are the best. It’s too cold where I live for one of those trees! But they are available at the store all winter.
