Golden Hour on the South Umpqua River

The cloud formations, soft evening light and the picturesque South Umpqua River made for a romantic walk in Roseburg, Oregon last week. We spent the night there on our way to Southern Oregon. I’ve been stopping here for the last twelve years on my annual California road trip and discovering the quieter, older part of town after all these years was a treat. An IPA and yummy dinner at a McMenamins brewpub completed a very relaxing evening . McMenamins is a Pacific Northwest chain of brewpubs, music venues and hotels. This particular pub is housed in an old, restored train station. The next morning it was off to Jacksonville!

Stay tuned for more Oregon Adventures!

  1. Looks like you took a break from pulling weeds. I’ve always loved Southern Oregon. It’s just too far from the airport. i went out to weed but the bees are having a field day on my purple ground cover this afternoon so it’s back to the terrace in a few. Enjoy

    • Yes, I am taking a break! Still have to fill up my second green can since it’s trash day tomorrow. I’ve started to thin out and shape the camellia bushes along with pulling what seems to be about a gazillion weeds! 😂 I’ll need to put up a sign, ” No weeds allowed”!
      Maybe that will help. 😉
