Poppies have always been a favorite flower of mine! Imagine my excitement when I noticed this bright patch of poppies growing in a field alongside the road in Jacksonville, Oregon.

Lucky for me, there was also a spot where I could safely pull over and take a closer look at this cheerful sight!

Seeing these flowers thrive without any human help made me wonder why it’s so hard growing them in my yard! Do you grow poppies successfully in your garden?

Have a great weekend!

    • Good morning Marlene! I hope you are staying cool during the heatwave! I tried to sit outside last night, but the air was so dirty from all the wildfire pollution and burned my eyes. 😢 Hopefully we’ll get a breeze going to clear all the yucky stuff out. Have a good weekend! 🙋

  1. I also have trouble growing poppies in my garden and I’m trying to grow the ones native to my area! Don’t know what it is but I just can’t get them to grow. Luckily I can enjoy them on the hills near my house. 🙂 Nice pictures!

    • Hey Anne! You’re smart by enjoying poopies on the hills around you. Maybe the trick to growing them is by planting them in a corner and leaving them alone. When I see all the beautiful California poppies thriving along roadsides, it makes me think that nature got it right! 😉 Happy Friday to you!
