Winter Magic at The Oregon Garden, Part 3

Imagine my surprise, when on Christmas morning I discovered The Secret Garden in a hidden corner of the Oregon Garden. When the trail forked, we stayed to the left. Just past a stand of cotton woods a heavy gate blocked the path. I peeked over it and saw the blue door way on the other side.

Hurray!! I finally found the Secret Garden.

The first time I visited here during the fall, the woman at the ticket counter said “be sure to look for the Secret Garden”! Of course I asked for a hint, the place is huge, but all she divulged was to look for a blue door. That day in October, I never found the secret garden or the blue door.

So it was fun to not only find it on Christmas Day, but to also get to see it covered with a little snow.

Snowflakes were falling. A sparrow was watching a restless kinglet scamper from branch to branch.

Suddenly, they both flew off.

And then it was time for me to go too.

  2. I love that blue door. It looks so peaceful there in the cold snow without a lot of people. 🙂 It’s going to be zen in a few moments. Busy most of the day but accomplished my goal. Christmas is no more. 🙂 Time for the journal and then a little light reading. 🙂 Have a great week.
