Just a few days ago I sat outside in the sun enjoying a cup of coffee while daydreaming about spring. It didn’t seem that far away….
…. until it started to snow! We got a nice dusting over the weekend, then several inches more last night. Needless to say it is cold, really really cold! But that didn’t keep me from going outside. And nature did not disappoint!
I hope that you enjoyed these sparkling natural diamonds!

Great shots, Sabine. I took a few photos too but nothing like these! I think it will be at least next week before anyone goes anywhere. Still in my pj’s and sewing today. Had to take a nap at 10 a.m. 🙂 I love the snow but won’t go out in it anymore unless absolutely necessary. Have a great and restful week. Till later.

Hey Marlene! Glad you got a nap! I was outside all days and got up extra early for it today! It was so cold and peaceful like only a snowy landscape can convey. 🙋

Fabulous frozen drops! I still need to pick up the filters that you suggested. You guys received more snow than we did, however they’re calling for more over the next several days. It does make everything beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

There’s more snow on the way tonight and possibly Sunday. I love how the world around here slows down during those moments.

Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. Happily I get to enjoy the cold through your pictures rather than actual experience. 🙂

Luckily for you, I awoke to 5 inches of snow this morning. I’m happy to share my winter with you virtually! ☃️

Gorgeous freezing droplet photos, Sabine. I, too, want to get one of those filters that you mentioned. I love close-ups. Have fun playing in the snow.

I found the lenses at a local grocery store, but I imagine Amazon has some as well. They are fun to experiment with, especially the fisheye. I did have fun in the snow, but am happy that it’s melting. ☃️

I’ll be putting in an order to Amazon soon. I will look for it (to avoid shipping costs!) I love the work you have done with it.

These are incredible! Much more beautiful than diamonds, and all the more mesmerising for their transience. Beautifully photographed!

Thanks Ali! It was actually quite challenging in the wind because the branches were constantly moving. I don’t think I’ve ever appreciated water droplets until I started photographing them.

That is a great thing about photography, isn’t it? And that you can study them at your leisure later, inside with a cup of tea, away from the arctic blast!

Very true! Fortunately the cold snap is over and spring seems to be on its way. I can’t wait to get out in the garden!
