Up Close & Personal … The Lone White Tulip

There aren’t very many tulips in my garden anymore. Of all the bulbs that I planted over the years, tulips seem to do the worst, and I’m not sure why. Most of them stop coming up after a couple of years.

After a rain shower, tiny droplets of water clung to the delicate, almost translucent petals of a lone white tulip, giving them a magical glow in the late afternoon sun.

Do you have a favorite tulip?

  1. What a pretty tulip. I don’t think you can eat it though. 🙂 Not very tasty. 😉 You did capture great shots of it after the rain. I’m going to miss the rain when it’s all gone. ;( The kids went to the tulip farm on Saturday and my daughter brought me a bouquet but I’ve not planted any. They took a lot of photos too but I haven’t seen them yet. I’ll send a note in a moment.

  2. The white tulip looks so delicate! I love it. My very favorites are pale pink. Since I’m recreating a nonexistent yard, I only have leftover volunteers this year. There are lots of grape hyacinth and a couple of red tulips. But next year…💐💐💐. Have a great week!

These are soooooo beautiful! I especially love the one of the style – such incredible colours!
After much deliberation, I have settled on ‘Ballerina’ as my favourite.
