Autumn Magic at the Oregon Garden

Can you hear the leaves crunching underfoot?

 water striders and
sunlit autumn afternoons
always float my boat.

Late October was the perfect time to visit the Oregon Garden for fall colors.
Four large brick reflecting pools and and forty brick planters occupy this garden plaza.
Each brick planter contains one Pacific Sunset Maple tree.
Some of these planters are built right into the reflection pools,
others line the paths through this plaza,
which is knowns as The Bosque.

The Bosque is one of my favorite spots at the Oregon Garden.

    • Thank you, Missy! It was truly a gorgeous day and I felt like I was walking through a postcard. We had a great Christmas at the Oregon Garden and a relaxing New Year’s Eve at home. I hope your holidays were fun filled with your grandkids and family!

  2. Gr8 photos.  Love the water strider.  They float my boat too:

    • Hey Marlene, I hope you get a chance to visit the Oregon Garden sometime. It’s always beautiful there, but autumn is especially nice. The colors were spectacular that day. Things have settled down here and I’ve been working on getting back into my groove. How are things with you?

      • I’m good if not a lot behind. Finally have Christmas put away but daughter has been home most of the week with a sore throat. People go to work sick and give it to everyone. We are keeping our distance from each other. Maybe this summer I’ll get to the Oregon Gardens. Glad to see you had a good holiday and wishing you a great 2020.

  3. These are just exquisite pictures Sabine – you have captured the beauty that is Fall, with those trees cloaked in autumn tones and then the leaves falling onto the water. You have some beautiful reflections of the trees on the water as well. No wonder this is a favorite spot for you to go to to enjoy nature’s beauty with your camera in tow. Our Fall was interrupted by the snow storm on the 11th of November and unbelievably many trees have not lost their leaves yet and a warm spell at Christmastime caused some flowering trees to bud. I have missed your beautiful images.

    • Hi Linda! Thanks so much for your kind words! It truly was a glorious day for taking photographs and also spending time in a peaceful place. We haven’t seen even a speck of snow here and I hope it stays that way. I’m happy that you enjoy my blog! 😊

      • I do enjoy your blog Sabine and it was well worth the wait for your return with these beautiful Fall shots in such a peaceful venue. Fall has always been my favorite season and I feel a little cheated this year. All the rain caused not much color this year, nor last year either. Then we had the snowstorm … the trees are confused. So it was beautiful to see your colorful shots and the reflections and the cute water strider as well. We have some snow this morning and I understand it is quite slick out there as lots of accidents. No walk today and not sure if I am going to be sweeping or shoveling – now it is a little lighter, so I’ll look before I suit up.
