Look at this tongue!!

“I feel good” he chirps

what sunrise delight.

I haven’t been sleeping well since the beginning of the pandemic. Many nights I wake up, often from Covid nightmares. After a particularly awful nightmare one night, I got up super early, made some coffee and headed outside with my cup of java and camera. I watched the sun rise and the birds awaken in the forest behind our house. Much to my surprise I was treated to one of the most magical moments all summer. As I was sitting there trying to make sense of my dream, this rufous hummingbird landed on my camellia bushes and decided to take a very long and thorough bath in the many tiny dewdrops on the leaves. This moment was a good reminder for me that despite all the heartbreak and suffering going on in the world, there’s beauty and joy as well. The challenge for me at times is to find a healthy balance between staying informed and also tuning things out. That’s not always easy for me.

Please be safe and wear a mask!

While finding “a healthy balance between staying informed and also tuning things out” is indeed a challenge for U and me and so many others, it is an urgent necessity.  Those who see what is so very wrong must stay sane and healthy if there is to be any hope of fixing a broken civilization before it collapses.

It’s hard to filter out the bad right now – there is just too much bad overshadowing the good. But seeing this little hummingbird enjoying his dew drops bath would make my day too Sabine. I delighted every time I looked out the door and saw “Hope” buzzing by and making my morning.

What a beautiful reminder, and especially as Thanksgiving is coming. We much to be grateful for in the midst of a pandemic. Thanks for sharing, my friend. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

LuAnne, I’m so happy that you are back!! Balancing these crazy times has been difficult for me since November 2016. Art sure helped me too, but then came the pandemic and now I’m trying to regroup again.

I knew all along that art was what I could use to keep me grounded, but I just couldn’t get it going. Then I started seeing a therapist and just telling her about it helped! Also, I am looking at January 20 with hope for a less crazy time. 🙂
