Ice Storm 2014

Out and About

Last February we had some snow which was followed by an ice storm. The quiet was only interrupted by the cracking sounds of the ice covering the snow. Everything was covered in ice, making for a most beautiful winter day. While exploring outside, I found frozen raindrops which had been linked together like glistening pearls in midair. There were chive blossoms, blueberry buds, dried out tomato vines, bamboo; this patch of earth transformed by nature. It did not last very long, but I will always remember it.
