Last week we spent a couple of days at our favorite beach in Lincoln City. After a deluge of rain, the weather forecast predicted two days of sunshine and warm (for early November) temperatures. We promptly booked a room at our usual hotel and packed our bags.
The drive out to the coast was spectacular! Sun rays peaking through the clouds, illuminating the glowing autumn colors of big leaf maples, sparkling rivers winding along the roads, and virtually no traffic!

What color are the feet?
A glorious time to visit the Oregon coast indeed! We went for long walks, both on the beach and in town. There was NO wind, which made the beach especially nice. We sat on the balcony, read, talked, relaxed and enjoyed the peace of mind the rhythmic sounds of the Pacific Ocean brings. We also didn’t watch very much television! In addition, I decided to take a week off of the internet and social media. I simply needed a break from the daily news, the nasty politics, and the daily grind of life…
My favorite encounter was with a couple of spaniels chasing a tennis ball in the water. These dogs were so exuberant and energetic that I could have watched them all day.
But alas, we were hungry and ended up eating some delicious Mexican food. Plus, there are always plenty of other things to explore here as well.
The weather held up and it didn’t start to rain until we were on our way home. This getaway was a reminder that one doesn’t always have to travel far in order to recharge one’s batteries!

It really is! The constant hum of electronic information can really feel unsettling. There is nothing better than going outside to counter it! 😊

Now I feel restored too. Great photos and I loved watching the dogs play. Listening to the ocean waves is most relaxing. Have a wonderfilled weekend ahead. Hugs.

Glad I could be of help! The dogs were so much fun and when they had to leave they were a bit like kids, dawdling, ignoring the calls and just running back into the water! 😉 Have a wonderful weekend too Marlene!
