Of all the beautiful places on the Left Coast, Mendocino is special to me. Never lived there, but visited often.
During the week this small artist town is generally quiet, except maybe during summer. Hiking along the cliffs of the Mendocino Headlands, looking out over the glistening deep blue Pacific Ocean, maybe a picnic lunch on one of the benches along the path always made the long, winding drive through Anderson Valley worth it.
There was always a surprise or two waiting to be discovered while meandering around the village.
Small shops teeming with locally crafted artwork, jewelry, paintings, and of course the usual knick-knacks sold to visitors. Old water towers, brilliant orange-colored California poppies, small wooden houses and windswept old trees, wine bars and micro breweries help you slow down and relax. Should you ever find yourself in the neighborhood, be sure to take the time and explore this area.
Love the Bougainvillea and the California Poppies. Looks like a great place to visit. I want to visit the shops. 🙂

Hi Sabine! Marlene was so kind as to send a link to your new blog. Your photos are spectacular. I love coastal, beachy areas. We were in that area last year; simply stunning! I’ll look forward to reading more as your blog develops! My best to you and our other classmates.

Thanks for the invite for coffee, Sabine. If I am remembering correctly, you are quite the connosoisseur. One of my recent posts talked about my search for a new go-to coffee spot. I think I’ve found it, complete with a cardamom latte. I look forward to seeing how your blog progresses.
