What Sparkles Day and Night?

One of my favorite places to visit is Iceland. This small island nation has some of the friendliest people, the best mocha and waffles ever (Cafe Mocha in downtown Reykjavik), the Blue Lagoon (talk about a relaxing experience!), some great record and book stores, good […]

Please don’t poke me in the eye!

Not far from where I live, is a nature park. Beautiful hiking trails wind through white oak meadows, mixed deciduous forests and dark evergreen woods. The park is generally empty, except on weekends. We’ve seen deer, birds of prey, owls, pileated woodpeckers, songbirds and lots […]

And the Award goes to…

I was quite surprised yesterday to have been nominated by https://vagabonvelda.wordpress.com/blog/ for the Liebster Award. I accepted her nomination, and while I was trying to figure out how to complete the requirements for this, I received two more nominations for this award. These nominations came by way of https://thesething.wordpress.com/home-3/ […]

Boardgames? I’m on board!

Never been a gambler. However, when it comes to playing boardgames, I’m on board. No pun intended! A few years ago I took a Photoshop class at a local college. Once I got the hang of all the nifty things one can do with this […]

The Magic of the Golden Hour

Early evening, before sunset, the light often turns brilliantly golden, shadows grow longer and then, ever so slowly the light takes on a magical glow. No matter where in the world you are, take the time to sit and watch this magic happen.

Tag! You’re it!

One Moment of Bliss

Breathe in slowly, clear your mind and close your eyes. Listen to the wind rustling through the trees, imagine a dragonfly hovering by the pond. Feel the sun warming your body. One blissful moment in life. To treasure forever.

Oak Meadow in Winter

This was a quiet, crisp winter morning, with fluffy white clouds floating across the sky. The beautiful reflections of the oak trees in the flooded meadows made me want to sit and meditate. Only occasional sounds of robins taking a bath could be heard.

Life from Different Angles

Writing a blog had been on my mind for quite some time. Encouragement from friends helped me to finally start this blog. I’ve been working on it for a few months now. I’ve been learning something new every time I log onto WordPress. So far, […]

Lost in Thought at Spring Lake Park

There’s nothing like visiting a great friend! One, with whom I can sip a glass of bubbly under the stars, go on lots of different nature hikes, share falafel wraps and sweet potato fries at East West Cafe, call when I’m feeling blue and call when […]

Winter Blues? Not this Year!

It’s been a strange winter around here. Not too cold, no snow or ice and very little rain. i think we’ve had a lot more sunshine than in years past. Last Sunday morning I noticed sunbeams peeking through the forest behind my house. This time […]

For the past year or so, I have been part of a creative writing group/class. We meet once a week, where everyone takes a turn reading their work, after which we can comment on the piece. Participants range in age from their 30s to the mid […]
